Community and Sponsorship

Puma Energy is committed to supporting a range of community-spirited projects across Australia.

We are dedicated to making a real difference to our customers, and to the communities in which we operate. We support projects that promote education, the environment, health, disability, rural development, social inclusion and social entrepreneurship, and are proud to partner with organisations such as The Starlight Children’s Foundation and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to create positive change.

Since partnering with The Starlight Children’s Foundation in 2016, we have donated more than $1 million to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Some of our fundraising activities have included running staff trivia nights, movie nights, family events and donating 1 cent per litre from all fuel sales across the country on Starlight Day (5 May). We look forward to continuing our partnership well into the future.

Just like the Starlight Children’s Foundation, YWAM transforms people’s lives and provides meaningful benefits to the communities where we operate. Through Puma Energy’s partnership with YWAM, we provide fuel for YWAM medical ships that travel to remote communities in Papua New Guinea to alleviate isolation and medical infrastructure challenges by delivering primary care, optometry, dentistry and training services. Since 2015, we have supplied fuel (diesel, Zoom and lubricants) to the value of more than $1 million to help YWAM deliver crucial healthcare services.

Puma Energy employees are also encouraged to look to their own communities for projects worthy of support. When Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit North Queensland in March 2017, our team on the ground at Bowen – where thousands of homes were left without electricity – reached out to offer community support. Our Puma Bowen service station provided more than 47,000 litres of fuel to 1,329 Bowen residents for their generators, completely free of charge. That’s equivalent to 2.5 days of power per home.

Puma Energy is an integrated global energy company like no other and we believe in the value of lasting partnerships with organisations on the ground and we will continue to invest in projects that achieve sustained and meaningful benefits to the communities where we operate.
